Verhoeff (1907, in Verhoeff 1902-1925, Klassen und Ordnungen des Tier-Reichs, 5(2):262) proposed the subgenus Arthrorhabdinus specifically for S. pygmaea, but the species has never been published in combination with this genus-group name. Possibly present also in Belize.
