Notes: The identity of this nominal species with Dicellophilus anomalus has been proposed by Chamberlin (1920 - Can. Ent. 52: 186) after examination of the holotype of Mecistocephalus breviceps; he also suspected that the provenance of the holotype as indicated by the label was erroneous.
