Notes: The species was also called as 'Mecistocephalus punctifrons var. hamidens' in the legend of a figure plate accompanying the original description (Haase 1887 - Abh. Ber. zool. anthr. Mus. Dresden 1: pl. IV), but the identity between the taxa has been remarked by Chamberlin (1920 - Can. Ent. 52: 185).
