Type locality: British Guiana (taken in Washington D.C. from pots of plants imported from that country)

Last taxonomic scrutiny: Foddai D., Pereira L.A., Minelli A. (2000). A catalogue of the geophilomorph centipedes (Chilopoda) from Central and South America including Mexico - Amazoniana, 16: 59-185, see p. 63.

Notes: This species was described upon a single alien specimen which was supposed to be introduced from Guyana; however, its actual origin is most probably in Asia.
