Notes: The synonymy between Mecistocephalus turucanus and Mecistocephalus labasanus was suspected by Attems (1929 - Das Tierr. 52: 146). The taxonomic distinction between Mecistocephalus kabasanus, M. labasanus, M. siaronus, M. somonus and M. turukanus needs to be critically evaluated.
