Original description: Crabill R.E. jr. (1952). A new subspecies of Otocryptops gracilis (Wood) from Eastern United States together with remarks on the status of Otocryptops nigridius (Mec Neill) and a key to the species of the genus now known to occur east of the Rocky Mountains (Chilopoda: Scolopendr - Entomological News, 63: 123-129, see p. 124.
