Synonymy: Pocock R.I. (1901). The Chilopoda or centipedes of the Australian Continent - Annals and Magazine of Natural History, (7)8: 451-463, see p. 452.

Notes: The taxonomic status of Scutigera simplex is still uncertain. Pocock (1901) tentatively proposed it to be a synonym of Scutigera (now Allothereua) maculata (Newport, 1844), and Chamberlin (1920) repeated the record.
