Last taxonomic scrutiny: Lewis J.G.E. (2010). A key and annotated list of the Scolopendra species of the Old World with a reappraisal of Arthrorhabdus (Chilopoda: Scolopendromorpha: Scolopendridae) - International Journal of Myriapodology, 3: 83-122, see p. 101.
Notes: Type locality is of neotype. Records from US Virgin Islands, Haiti, Mexico, and Honduras are probably due to accidental human introduction. A record from India is problematic. Lewis (2010) notes that the presence in India is improbable.
